Who is Maddison Mertz?
Maddison Mertz, or Moo to her loved ones, was a second grader from Victoria, MN. She turned eight on May 26, 2017 and passed away from Stage IV glioblastoma brain tumor on May 29, 2017. In the seven months that Moo battled this monster, she demonstrated the strength of a superhero.
She was a constant shining star that touched the lives around her in an immeasurable way. She was a miracle to all who knew her, and in her name, Maddison Mertz's Miracles was founded.
Trick or Treat in May?
Always joyful and clever, Maddison began dressing up in costume at the age of four and knocking on doors to trick or treat - regardless of the month. The response was always the same; those who adored her were delighted to fill hands with candy and hear the giggles of Moo and her little buddies.
We are trick or treating for donations in honor of Maddison on May 1. May is not only a special month to celebrate Moo, it is also Brain Tumor Awareness month.
Your generous donation will be designated for more effective brain tumor research through Children's Cancer Research Fund to continue Moo's legacy. Currently only 4% of federal funding goes to children's cancer research.
Our goal is to raise funds so other children with cancer will be able to have lives filled with more candy and unlimited giggles. We believe a world without childhood cancer is possible.
